You can take a 'tro tro' (bus) from Accra to Kasoa for 1 or 2 cedis and get down at the toll station, where it's fairly easy to get a lift. There is a sign saying "No hawking [selling] beyond this point" But it seems that if you look like a tourist nobody gives you any hassle.
=== North-east East towards [[Ho]] ===The main road north-east passes through Tema before leaving the coast. This is by no means the best option, but one hitchhiker got a tro tro to Tema roundabout, then took another to Affienya. There's a police barrier just north of the town.
