::::My username actually comes from [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IN6mjNMNytY this beautiful song.] Most states definitions of roadway exclude the shoulder, but there are a good bit of them that don't mention the shoulder in the definition (ie. Indiana). It's a good rule of thumb to hitch from the grass if you're not sure just in case. I added the roadway definition to most states, but there were a few I just never got around to. If you want to find out roadway definitions for a state, simply go to google and type "Texas law definitions roadway" with the given state, this works most of the time. If you do look up the definitions, it would be awesome if you add them to their respective article.
:::::I think now all states should have definitions; I added Nebraska... seemed to be the only one lacking one. And I made a pretty map for myself with the laws of all the states :-)--05:58, 3 June 2012 (CEST)
=== United States main page ===*Hey I really liked your idea of the hitchhiking laws by state color coded map that you posted on the main US page. I replaced it with a different one based on more recent information I researched including the addition of Puerto Rico. I think you will find this map to be more accurate. Please follow up with me with any questions as parts of your map confused me based on the actual text of the laws. Ie. north dakota and texas actually allows hitchhiking on freeways and montana bans pedestrians on some freeways. Furthermore you seem to have a lot of experience hitchhiking in the US and contribute a lot. Would you want to help me develop pages for cities in many placesthe US? I'm working on trying to build a page for every major city that I remember hitchhiking out of. I think the primary information people want to know about the cities is where to go to hitch out of them.''nothing but time on my hands''[[User:Thewindandrain|Thewindandrain]] 08:19, 23 September 2012 (CEST)
