The beach streches for some kilometers between Engure and the next, even smaller village. [[User:N0id|n0id]] has been there several times (though a few years ago). It is really quiet and usually there are almost no people. Since the road runs parallel to the coast line, one could do shopping and hitch along the road to minimise walking to a couple of hundred meters.
