Eisenach is a city in Germany known for the Wartburg, a castle important for German history. The city is situated along the A4 motorway, and there is a service area with the same name close by. The service area is accessible from both directions which makes it a very possible spot to get a ride in any direction - Zenit needed about 20 minutes to talk a driver into taking him. As of August 17, 2010, there's roadworks on the A4 around Eisenach which can make things a bit more complicatedoldest and best known castles.
the The complete situation around eisenach Eisenach (Thuringia) has changed a lot during the years 2009 and 2011. a A new motorway bypass for the A 4 / E 40 has been built. the The old A4 is now the new B 7 / B 19 / B 88 but not leading back to the autobahn A 4 in eastern direction anymore. some Some stretches have completely been dismantled. older Older maps might not be showing the present situation correctly.
to To reach LOMO autohof eisenach from the city center of Eisenach you can take b    bus number 1 to the MARKTKAUF supermarket and shopping mall. Get off there and walk 10 minutes uphill to one of the many traffic lights on 'Mühlhäuser Straße'. Sometimes it only takes minutes to find a driver that can at least bring you to the LOMO autohof on A4. Build a cardboard sign indicating A4 / E 40 on it. The autohof is on one side of the autobahn situated for both directions, once you have reached it you do not need to change sides (east/west).
