'''{{FULLPAGENAMEE}}''' is a city in [[CountryGuyana]].
Georgetown, as of 2011 is a really messy, really busy, not very welcoming town for hitch hikers. Your best bet if you are trying to hike anywhere is to catch a bus from the central market place, and head as far away from the town as possible. Once outside of town, hitch hiking becomes possible.
=== South towards [[Lethem]] ===
Go to the central market place. Find the Linden bus park. The bus to Linden shouldn't cost more than 5 or 6 US$ (they may charge more if your bags take up a space in the bus, as they tend to only run if they are full, and an extra bag means one less paying person...). The ride is quite long, but from Linden, walking once you have crossed the bridge, and walked a little way down the road, you will find yourself at the beginning of the dirt track people call the Lethem road, of Kurupakarie Highway(ask for either if you get lost). From there best of luck it's nothing more than trucks carrying fuel for the mining and logging operations, but it's feasible!

In the area of Durban street, Princes street, Smythe street and high High street, which you can reach by walking south from the marked town down Water street for about 4 blocks then making a left turn, there is an abandoned piece of land that is ok to pitch in if it's already dark. Avoid anybody seeing you enter it though as it's ownership is uncertain at best...
