Using public transportation without a ticket is fairly easy in Leipzig.
Another posibility:
On Permoser Straße there are three gas stations. First Aral, then HEM and later bft, the closest to the highway. I waited 15 minutes at the last one with a sign "A14 Dresden" and afterwards I went to the first service area on the highway called Muldental . There aren´t too many people to ask and a lot of locals too.
