Direction north-west there is the motorway towards [[Kranj]] (german: ''[[Krainburg]]'') through the Karawanken Tunnel (slovenian: ''Predor Karavanke'') or over the pass over the border to [[Villach]] (slov.: ''Beljak'') in [[Austria]] and further on on the Tauern-motorway to [[Salzburg]] and over to [[Germany]]. It is the way that is used by most of those numerous Germans that go to the [[Croatia]]n coast for holydaysholidays.
This motorway (that is still just an ordinary road in some parts where they are about to parlay it to a true motorway) starts outside the city of Ljubljana. There is a big road going off from the circle-road/-motorway leaving the city in the direction north-west. On this road there is also a big petrol station, that is open 24 hours a day where one can ask people. Somewhat out of town on a crossroad the motorway starts to the right. Just before that right after a bus stop there is a good possibility to stand.
