'''Tyrol''' (''Tirol'' in German) is a federal state of [[Austria]]. It consist of the two separate parts [[North Tyrol]] (Nordtirol) and [[East Tyrol]] (Osttirol). Note that [[Südtirol|South Tyrol]] (Südtirol) is part of [[Italy]] and thus not part of the Austrian Tyrol. However, there are close cultural and linguistic ties between [[Tyrol]] and [[South Tyrol]].
