Madeira Islands

The Madeira Islands are an island group in the Atlantic Ocean, and they're an autonomous region of Portugal. The official language is Portuguese, but most of people speak English very well.
The island is small and the towns are very close to each other, which makes it very easy to hitchhike, even tough we found opposite information on internet and from some locals. The exact place is not so important, since the streets are not crowded, people even stop in front of tunnels or in round a bound to pick up hitchhikers. But the cardboard with town's name written definitely gets more attention then just a finger.
