Khimki (Russian: Химки) is the fourth largest and closest district center to Moscow in Moscow Oblast, Russia.
- It is located just outside the MKAD (Moscow Ring Road), along the Leningrad Highway (M10) and the new toll road M11 "Neva".

Hitchhiking in
- Sheremetyevo International Airport is located within the city district of Khimki.
- The "Khimki" railway station, as well as the Molzhaninovo platform (formerly "Planernaya", no turnstiles), are easiest to reach via the comfortable "Lastochka" train on MCD3. You can board the Lastochka at the metro stations "Khovrino", "Likhobory", "Petrovsko-Razumovskaya", "Ostankino", "Elektrozavodskaya", "Aviamotornaya", and others.
- The bus station at ul. Moskovskaya, 12. Hours: 06:00-24:00. Phone: +7 (495) 572-65-50 Website: http://www.mostransavto.ru Many buses and minibuses depart from the "Rechnoy Vokzal" metro, and a few from "Planernaya" metro.
Hitchhiking out
North towards Tver via M10
- Hitchhikers used to take free buses from the metro to MEGA-Khimki (their schedule and routes are here) to get out of Moscow onto the St. Petersburg (Piter) highway. Now all of them are paid. From the paid buses, the best option is No. 851 (or its night duplicate!) and get off at the turn to Sheremetyevo.
North towards Saint Petersburg via M11
- 21 km Toll point (PVP), the very first from Moscow, in Khimki forest. Located on the main route. Toilets available.
- Bus No. 14 from D3 station "Khimki," the stop opposite the toll point is called "Istok."
- 23 km Roadside rest area. There's a café at the Lukoil gas station.
- 500 meters east is the "Zolotaya Arka" stop. Bus No. 14 from MCD "Khimki," and also minibus No. 20 from Sheremetyevo Airport.
West on MKAD
- Buses, trolleybus, and minibuses to the 2nd district of Novobutakovo.
East on MKAD
- "Khimki Hospital" stop. Buses No. 32, 32С and minibus No. 397 from Auchan.

- In your own tent - huge and abandoned forest area near the "Levoberezhnaya" station. You can find camping spots on the reservoir bank.

- Free payphone by Rostelecom is on Yubileyny Prospekt near building 40, across Rubtsova Square from Leningradskoye Highway. Another two are on Chapaeva street near the city administration.
