You can use the Wood Buffalo Transit System. From downtown take Bus 11 ($1.35) to the edge of the Oil Sands Discovery Centre. Ask the driver to tell you where to hop off. From the main entrance of the building to the left you can see the junction of MacKenzie Blvd and Highway 63. Safely cross the highway at the traffic lights. The shoulder of Hwy 63 is wide enough to pull over. Traffic is slow after the traffic lights.
