Agra is a city in India famous for the astonishing Taj Mahal.

Hitchhiking out

Northwest towards New Delhi and east towards Lucknow

From the northern exit of Bijli Ghar roundabout, which is located near Agra Fort, take a bus 35 towards Tudla and get off at Kuberpur. The official bus stop is behind the bypass, but tell the driver that you want to get off at the bypass, he should stop for you. The word bypass is understood in Hindi, so just say Kuberpur Bypass. The bus ride should be around 30 INR (Apr 2023). Walk south along the bypass until you reach the Inner Ring Road Toll Plaza. From there you can hitch northeast towards Delhi or east to Lucknow.

Public transport

The city of Agra introduced recently modern electric buses with AC onboard. They all have numbers, display directions at the front, back and the side of the bus both in Hindi and English and stop at designated stops, however stops don't have any physical signs. Google Maps shows some of the bus lines but not all and many bus stops are missing. There's an Indian app called Chalo which shows the stops somewhat more accurately, but some bus lines are still missing. If your Google Play Store is not registered in India this app won't be available there, but you can download it from Uptodown.
