Hitchhiking out
North towards Kamloops
If possible, take the city bus to Emerald Estates, and get off at the furthest bus stop along the highway. Walk down the road 50 m, and there you will find a straight stretch with a wide shoulder where getting rides is fairly easy. While there isn't much traffic north of Whistler, getting a ride is fairly easy in those parts.
