The geography entire state is nothing but beautiful trees and mountains everywhere you look. There is a largely "unregulated" feel to it. If you spend some time here you may catch the vibe. Community is very conducive a highly valued concept to West Virginians which may be why their crime rate is so low despite high poverty and why everyone is willing to help out a hitchhiker. == Recreation ==If you are looking for outdoor activities of all kinds, the Spruce Knob-Seneca Rocks National Recreation area is a good place to experience the best the state (and arguably the entire Appalachian region) has to offer. There is abundant hiking, rock climbing, camping, skiing, swimming, and anything else your earth-loving heart desires.
