I've had less than 10 rides in UA, and they were short, but I was not asked for money. Ukrainian Wikipedia article on hitchhiking does not mention that paying for a ride is common in UA. --[[User:Fverhart|Fverhart]] ([[User talk:Fverhart|talk]]) 20:02, 20 September 2014 (UTC)
 
:Thanks for taking care, I asked my friend who hitched with me there and not so many drivers wanted money actually. Just my memory made it worse. We hitched around 740 km in the south (that was my worst hitching experience, reading hitchwiki page later was like wtf?) and 360 km in the west (that was much better). But still at least 3 drivers (out of 15 maybe) wanted money, one agreed to take us for free and then was really rude at the end. So I disagree with previous version: ''do not be surprised if you are occasionally asked for money from drivers. It is rare, but it does happen.'' Would you guys agree with: ''do not be surprised if you are sometimes asked for money from drivers.'' ? It's definitely not often nor rare.
