First got into couchsurfing and then hitchhiking due to failed workaway experience in Haute-Garonne region of France in spring 2023. First major solo trip from Amsterdam to Hamburg to Copenagen to Berlin to Heidelberg to Zurich to work on a farm in Italy. Then back north through Switzerland (Luzern and Lugano), east through Austria (via Innsbruck, Salzburg and Vienna), to Budapest, and finally through Slovenia to Ljubljana - all by thumb. As much as I love meeting people, I love ending up in random areas I wouldn't have otherwise, and spending long stretches of times in abandoned places -- often dilapidated, ignored, industrial -- and finding the beauty in them.
