If you want to travel on the A7 try to start directly in [[Neu-Ulm]].
Another possibility to get to the A7 that is much faster in my opinion: Take Bus number 58 from main bus station (near train station) direction Albeck

There is a bus station where you can hitchhike easily direction Heidenheim (it's a small highway, that leads to the A7).
You need to ask the driver if he goes at least to Autobahnraststätte Lonetal.
Note: From Rasthaus Seligweiler it's also very easy to get on the A8 in both directions (Stuttgart or Munich)
