===How to ===
I think that hitching in China is significantly easier than it is explained in this page. In particular, I disagree with the statement that public transport is faster. Perhaps I was lucky, but I made journeys much faster by hitching than by train, and much faster too, and much much more comfortably! This included hitching on normal public roads as well. I understand the waving gesture is supposed to be used, however I used the normal thumb signal and it worked fine. I also hitched with and without a sign - Having a sign does indeed make things much easier,compared with other countries. Do any other users have similar experiences? If so I will change the article to reflect these differences. --[[User:haggismn|haggismn]] 10:24, 30 October 2011 (UTC)
:I haven't traveled much with public transport, but from the times I did I think you're probably right about that. The week of the 1st of May we even tried to get a bus but the lines were so long and unclear that we just decided to walk to a highway, which worked out very well :) There might be big differences in regions in China, which could explain for the sign situation? Would be good to update the article anyway :) [[User:Guaka|guaka]] 16:37, 30 October 2011 (CET)
