Cars come out of the boat slowly, and you have time to approach a car with a non-Swedish number plate.
The Viking Line ferries are the cheapest. If you only buy a ticket to Åland and then don't get off, it's cheaper, and tickets are never checked once on board. On the bottom deck (the very bottom) there are free accesible showers. Also, there is a quiet place on the floor to sleep down there, away from all the drunks.
