Changes

It is easy to hitch from Steinbach to Winnipeg, and there are two popular routes for vehicles to make the 50-minute trip.

For the route via Blumenort / St. Anne, start hitching North from the #12 highway and Park Rd.. To get there walk about half an hour North from Main St. & Brandt St. (the name for the #12 highway going through the city). Sign directly for Winnipeg, or get a lift ~20 minutes north to the #1 highway and then get another ride ~30 minutes west to Winnipeg. You will enter the city on Fermor Ave.

For the route via Mitchell / Kleefeld / Ile des Chenes, start hitching on the shoulder which starts at Main St. (#52 highway) & Lund Rd. To get here, walk ~10 minutes West on Main St. from intersection of Main & Brandt. Hold a sign for [[Winnipeg]], or get a lift ~15 minutes west on the #52 highway to the #59 highway, and then get another ride ~40 minutes north on the #59 into Winnipeg. You will enter the city on Lagimodiere Blvd.
