To go east take the tram to Baščaršija and you will see the road which seems to go into the hills along the river. Before the river makes a sharp turn right, is a nice spot opposite a petrol station and the Haris Youthhostel on Bentbaša Street 11 (it just moved there in spring 2015, so if you use gmaps it might still show you Hotel Emona for a while). user cyclebear had to wait less than 15 minutes there in july 2015. Before the Serbian Border is the town of Višegrad and its recommended to make a sign for that or simply SRB (Serbia). * [[User:Mpistunova|Mpistunova]] I used this spot in Feb 2017 and I'm so thankful I read about it on this website. I had to wait for only 10 minutes. Not so many people are around, so no one stares or laughs at you when you're there. It's the best spot, and you can get a ride to Sokolac, Rogatica, Visegrad and then into Serbia to Mokra Gora / Uzice and so on. It took me about 3-4 hours to reach Uzice. * Great spot. In less than 20 minutes four cars pulled up - two only had space to take one of us (there were two of us) and one was only going 20 km down the road, but we took the fourth one. (September 2015) * [[User:Antonopa|Antonopa]] (May 2016) Definitely a great spot. I followed the above advice and made sign for Serbia. I got there at 10:30 on Sunday. By 10:45 I was in the car to Serbia. Got a ride all the way to Novi Sad. There were buses parked opposite the petrol station, but set up a bit closer to town and you will catch a ride easily. * (August 2018) Used this spot to get to Serbia with a sign for Visegrad, took around an hour to get picked up. Might be easier not in the high season as it is used for parking. Be careful if going to Visegrad though! Had to wait for over 3-4 hours until I was finally picked up and it wasn't by a local but a Spanish couple travelling the world in their van. If going to Belgrade it's better not to cross at Visegrad, as there is a more direct route/crossing to the north. The border police at the Visegrad crossing are really friendly though :).
