You will need a special premission to be allowed to cross Like the border. Don't try to cross Georgia the border illegalis supposed to be open for international travellers since July 2011.

The [[Verkhny_Lars-Darial_Gorge_border_crossing|Verkhny Lars - Darial Gorge crossing ]] was reopened on March 1st, 2010. Traveling between countries should be possible again now. See [http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/8542746.stm News] and since July 2011 is open for moreinternational travellers as well. Getting into [[Georgia]] via [[Abkhazia]] seems somewhat more difficultis not possible. For more specific information, check the [[Abkhazia]] article.
