== Hitchhiking out == Hitching out of Oslo is usually difficult from the city center(except going south). There are several highway motorway entrances behind the tunnel. The further outside the city you are, the easier it gets.   === North towards [[Trondheim]] {{E|6}} or northwest towards [[Molde]] or [[Ålesund]] === This is a superb spot for heading north/northwest: a "Circle K" petrol station on the [[E6]] direction North which can be reached with the free IKEA shuttle bus. This blue bus is leaving from Fred Olsens gate 5 every hour on the "o'clock". It operates from 10.00 until 22.00 on weekdays and from 09.00 until 20.00 on saturdays. You could also jump on the metro line 1 or 2 to the stop (Trosterud) at earlier/later hours, sundays and it leaves at higher frequencies, but that would cost a one-zone ticket of 35 NOK. The Circle K is 10 minutes walk from IKEA. Once you are at IKEA just walk around the building to it's right side, and you'll se a pedestrian tunnel taking you under the E6. Straight on the other side, look to your right, a pathway following the highway takes you directly to the spot. When going north, you can quite easily find a ride here. Anyways, for shorter rides, the first good petrol station on the highway is called "Skedsmokorset". You might be offered rides to the Oslo airport, in case you are trying to get further, make sure you jump off at Skedsmokorset.  === South towards [[Göteborg]] {{E|6}} and east towards [[Stockholm]] {{E|18}} === Note: If you're heading to Sweden on the E18 you have to start on the E6. Be very careful as there is only one point where the E6 branches to the E18. It's fairly easy to miss, but when you see it ask the driver to turn off even if they are continuing south. There is a roundabout where you can get out, and then the driver can get back on the E6.

You will enter petrol station on motorway E6. Either ask drivers there, hitchhike on the tunnel in busstop on the area of Etterstadmotorway just 100 meters next to the gasstation, but it can't be bad to get even further out of on the city. Once onramp itself, or on the highway everything went finebusstop before the onramp. Basically just go there and find your favorite way to find a ride going south.

If you want to go south-east on Take one of the [[E6]] take metro line 3 following buses 83, 500, T9 to "Mortensrud" and get off at the last station, then cross stop Ljansbakken.This spot is before the bridge road turns into a motorway at a busstop with plenty of space for people to pull over metro track and walk for about 300 meterssafely, a sign might be useful at this spot. You will enter petrol station on motorway E6. Ask drivers there. Very good spot!

You can also take the regional train going "Ski" and get off at "Nordstrand" station, one stop after Oslo'''Option 4 -S. Once at Nordstrand, turn left and go down the little hill. The large road with a lot of traffic is the [[E18]]. You can walk about 5-10 minutes in the direction of Oslo (turning right) to the Ulvøya Island crossroad. There is a bus stop right after a traffic light and you can get picked up quite easily. Have a sign and avoid anyone going in the direction of [[Stockholm]].Hellerud '''

Alternatively you You may want to try Esso gas petrol station (diesel is cheaper there so lots of people fills up there and other advantage is there is a MC D. right next to it). To get there, take subway to Hellerud, turn right into Smalvollveien and walk till you get to Esso. Some might find useful to know that there seem to be fewer ticket controls on that line.

To get The road to Bergen, take diverges from the local train out to "southwestern road at Sandvika", from where you can either take a bus or walk along . If your ride is going the road (quite a few k's) until it turns from dual carriageway to a simple country roadother way, where you can just hitch along get off at one of the sidegas stations before Sandvika and keep hitchhiking from there.

Hitchhiking from Oslo to Bergen can be pretty challenging in winter.I have tried from west of Oslo and without any luck I turned This option is fairly close to the area where the goods terminals located.It is in the north east side of the citycentre.Keep in mind most of the trucks are using RV 7 Take a train or a bus to go to Bergen (Skøyen), and try to avoid being left at walk southwest towards the small towns like Gol,Hemsedal which can prove very hard to get out ofhighway.If you want to cover There is a big roundabout a long distance by a truck your best chance little closer to get the hightway, and a truck to your destination from Schenker Goods Terminal near Alna Senter.From 100 meters further down the central station onramp you can eighter take subway to Tveita Metro 'll see a bus stop and walk across the E6 by Ytre Ringvei or take the train with plenty of space to Alnapull over.You will not miss huge Schenker sign boardThis is a favorite spot for many hitchhikers heading west.It From here option 2 is forbidden to enter the terminal area so wait outside the gate at the Alnabruveien and Terminalveien with a sign of your destinationalso close by,by doing this you would also catch up a ride by Tollpost Globe ASs trucks.The trucks continues on Alnabruveien keeps eighter on gas station that is just 600 meters down the E6 South,E18 West or E16.Trucks leaving for E6 north turn into Terminalveienhighway.

Yes, there is bus 200 that goes from the airport is smallCity, so between flights traffic is light. When you come out of can catch it to the terminal building; stop ''Avtjerna'' and hitch from the bustop. All motorway in front of you has ended and it is just country road all the E6, and Oslo (North) is way to the rightBergen. I walked The con with this option is that it the one mile along the airport service road bus only goes once an hour (hitching without successand once every 2 hours on sunday). It is also quite far out from Oslo, and then hitched from public transport can be pricey. But if you just miss the roundaboutbus you can change to option 1 or 2.

Catch a train to Sandvika, when you get off the train walk in the direction the train was moving for 100 meters, turn right and then left on the bigger road (Elias Smiths Vej), follow the road until a roundabout and turn right, and you will see the entrance to the highway. I walked the one mile along the airport service road (hitching without success)and then hitched from the roundabout. Or you can just stand at the end of the car park building on the slip road (turn right out of terminal building and walk until you reach the end of the building). The ticket Oslo (Gardermoen) (OSL) Airport is 26 kr. Note that you can buy it on the train (for 40 kr if you buy it from a person instead located around 50 km North of the machine) and they might not checkOslo, but it's almost impossible to dodge on regional trainsnear [[E6]] towards [[Lillehammer]].

To reach Oslo, simply go to the multi-storey car park which is adjacent to the terminal and then follow arrows to the exit. Then head to the gates where drivers pay for the parking, it's at the exit from the car park area. Stand right behind these gates.
