This project was inspired by [http://wwwen.wikipedia.org Wikipedia] and by [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hitchhiker's_Guide_to_the_Galaxy Adams' Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy]: a Wiki to gather information about hitchhiking. As a hitchhiker you're encouraged to not only read the guide, but also to contribute. Every visitor can add her knowledge by improving existing pages and adding new ones!
===How to contribute===
Easiest way to contribute to the Guide at this point is to write an entry - point a good spot to hitchhike in your home town or give a tip about something you feel would be good for hitchhikers to know. To create a new entry, you need to create a link first. To do this as easy as possible, there is a page for [[new entries]] where you can just add your link.
