Instructions below are for the old road and there is now only local traffic there. This is far better: Where Aleja Solidarnosci intersects with Aleja Generala Wladyslawa Sikorskiego / Generala Boleslawa Ducha is a McD. Just after the intersection in direction of Warszaw (west) is plenty of space for cars to stop and they are going pretty slow. The road then turns into a highway within a kilometre. You can also walk for about 5 minutes in the direction of the highway and you'll find a lay-by. Cars go faster, but the visibility is good & there is plenty of space for cars to stop and it is obvious you are hitchhiking (as opposed to waiting for a bus). [[User:Viktorbagare|Viktorbagare]] tried the on-ramps from Aleja Warszawska and they were not good for hitchhiking. (May 2015)
(There is a good spot on Aleja Warszawska. Take bus #18 or #20 and get off at the bus stop ''Skansen'' (#18 turns right before it stops). Hitch from the bus stop at the main road. Both buses run from the ''Ogród Saski'' (Saxon Garden) close to the city centre. If you use a sign with ''Warszawa'' or ''Wa-wa'' you have a good chance of getting a direct lift.)
