sorry I didn t know where I can ask my question... So I m french and I use quite a lot this website...
I have a lot of free time for these two next months and I will be very happy to translate some pages from english to french (even if i use a turkish computer for the moment i will manage for accents and these kind of stuff..)!

==Spelling==
If you are not a native speaker of a language, it might be worthwhile to access hitchwiki.org using Firefox and download the dictionary from [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/browse/type:3 Mozilla] for the language in which you are writing your contribution, so that you can spell-check what you're typing. As for using UK or US spelling, I'd suggest to use US spelling, but feel free to voice your objections.

: Unfortunately, it is not possible to use completely shared repositories. But you can define one external repository for each wiki. So we could the English one as a global repository, because it has the most images. Would be cool if you could ask the guys from wikimedia commons. ==Russian hitchwiki==
Would you think it would be possible to set up a Russian branch of hitchwiki on ru.hitchwiki.org? Hitching is extremely popular in Russia and other former USSR countries, and I am fairly sure we will be able to find contributors!

::I would love to start a Russian hitchwiki. The only problem is, that I don't know anyone who speaks Russian. It is important to keep an eye on a wiki to avoid spam or other unwanted content. Hey, I thouhgt a lot about russian part of hitchwiki. I think we need main_page like in Finnish hitchwiki. But I don't know how to create it. :( Russian part should be devoted mostly to Russia and other russian speaking regions of ex_СНГ. Other russians travelled in other countries know at least elementary English, so they will be able update English part. Also I'm ready to create russian templates but don't know how to. :(
I looked at the list of maintainers of Russian part of hitchwiki. Hey guys are you really able to speak Russian? :) Should I join you in this activities.
: Sure, we could really need some help from real Russians ;) I just gave you admin rights on the Russian wiki. Feel free to change whatever you want. What kind of templates do you want to create? How do you exactly want the Main Page? Just ask here for whatever you need! There are a lot of people here around who want to help but don't speak Russian (like me). ::: About the templates: Just copy the code of English templates that look nice and change the content. I.e. this: [[Template:Cities_Germany]] should be easy to transform to Russian. Same for [[Template:News]] and [[Template:Events]].

==Portuguese hitchwiki==
I'm a Brazilian Hitchhiker, and native Portuguese speaker. I think there is very little material about hitchhiking in my language. I can translate articles get my language, and I know that some hitchhikers are now on the roads of Brazil and South America, which could also help. Even with specific information about Brazil and South America. What you think of opening a pt.hitchwiki.org?

: Yes, I discussed that with [[User:Vrana|Vrana]]. The thing is, that serbo-croatian does not exist officially and the code sh is obsolete. So we decided to start a Croatian wiki (it's what she speaks), but call it Serbo-Croatian, to motivate people from Serbia, Bosnia and Montenegro as well.
