It's the biggest organised hitchhiking event in the UK, and probably in the world. Over 5,500 people have taken part in the Hitch since it started in [[1992]], raising more than £2.5million for LCD’s projects in sub-Saharan Africa. In 2010 over 1200 people have thumbed their way to [[Morocco]] or [[Prague]].
