The '''Hitchhiking Zine''' is an idea by [[User:Zac Stewart|Zac Stewart]]dreamed up while discussing with a fellow traveler about how the travel guides of today are really just tourist guides. He joked that someone should write a travel guide that reviews the best parks to sleep in, the tastiest dumpsters to eat out of and the best places to hitch from. The joke's over and the Hitchwiki is that collective "someone".

==Goal==* Create a DIY usable "travel 'zine guide" for hitchhikers with as much information and little bloat as possible.* Use all open source content, Compactand create it with open source software.

==FormatWhat gets included? ==In order to give This first edition of the zine a personal feel, I think that all articles and "descriptive" parts should is going to be written individually. Of course hitching information, places mostly limited to sleep and eatWestern Europe, etc should come straight from the Wikialthough, but if someone has something cool to say about there have been some nominations for a particular city or whatever, they should be allowed to say it without having it "wikified" and edited few Central European countries. Please try to uniformity. That would also give us only nominate pages with a good opportunity to give individual writers some credit so that it adds more personality to the zinebit of information. A mail version could be sent for $2, but some perl scripting in the spirit of hitchhiking it's nice to have the free option.
