Hitchhiking on Corfu is fairly easy, mainly due to the large number of tourists. Unfortunately this also means that off season (up to April) hitchhiking is really hard. Greek people are very reluctant to help out a stranger alongside the road, even with spotty infrequent buses. The good part is that there are buses and the bus stops are often also good hitchhiking spots (even though no one stopped for [[User:Guaka|Guaka]] for about 1,5 hour).
Hitchhiking by standing on the road works perfectly fine.
There's no shoulder almost nowhere.
[[User:MOAH|Moah]] hitchhiked yachts twice from/to Corfu. Once by accident from [[Budva]] in [[Montenegro]] to [[Athens]] while making a night's stop in Corfu's Gouvia Marina. The second time on purpose looking for a boat to [[Bari]] in [[Italy]] but found a direct yacht ride to [[Malta]] instead, after six days of dockwalking and sleeping on someone's yacht in the cockpit (with their permission).
