As for hitchhiking, it is becoming more and [[Hamburg]] more popular again even for commuters as official hitchhiking spots are being introduced (similar to the Netherlands). They are usually called "Trampstellen" or "Mitfahrbänke" and in the south-east to [[Mecklenburg-Vorpommern]]can be found at some regular bus stops.
