Some users create logs of their hitchhiking mileage.

Here is a discussion about keeping hitchhiking statistics. Further, Prino has a computer program to record the trips and keep easily track and statistics of them. The program can be downloaded from the files section of the Hitching group on Yahoo!. The convoluted format of the input to the program is described in Keeping statistics.

Note from Prino: The programs don't record the trips, you will have to manually enter them in a simple text file. The programs just process this file and produce a number of more (or less) useful output files that you can massage to put on this site. I've started work on a Wiki-fication program, it currently is capable of generating all three tables on my Summary page, but adding more summary tables will take some time.

However, I do have another Wiki-fication add-on, but that only runs as an edit macro under the ISPF editor on IBM's z/OS. In addition to generating all tables on my Summary page, it also generates the small tables at the top of the log per year pages.
