Barcelona is the capital of Catalunya, a region in Spain (and France).

Getting into Barcelona from France

In 2004 all cars had to stop at the border between France and Spain.

You can try to get a ride to the Costa Brava, where there is a cheap train (2,3 euros) into Barcelona.

Going north

You could take a train to Sils (?) and walk a bit towards the highway.

Going South

Take the train to Castellbisbal station from Barcelona Sants. Walk back up the train tracks in the direction that you came for ten minutes until you see a service station on your left. To hitch South, cross the road via the footbridge. To hitch North, stay on that side of the road.
