It's located in Upper Franconia on the river Regnitz close to its confluence with the river Main. Its historic city center is a listed UNESCO world heritage site.
From the main Train station take the Bus to Mühlhausen and another Bus to Weingartsgreuth, which is about 1 hour out the city. Bamberg is about 20km away from A3. There is a service station going both north and south called Steigerwald.
