Hitchhiker [[User:Robbel|Robbel]] has During July and August 2016, you can eat and sleep at 'Bivak Urban Camping'. This is a cool, alternative space where you can pitch your tent and meet other travelers. It is a spare room very strategic place for HH as well since pretty close to Antwerp Berchem railway station and can the highway. More info on [http://www.bivakurbancamping.be contacted by SMS. Tram 10 or several buslines to Borgerhout Turnhoutsepoort, walk northeast over the Turnhoutsebaan for only 250 meters, passing the railway tunnel and crossroads and hitch after the motorway sign, start of the A13/E313, on the bridge over the R1/E19. Later on this highway splits in two highways (A13/E313+A21/E34), so make sure you find a ride in the right direction. A sign could be very useful. Just before the split is a petrol station. This is in 'Wommelgem/Ranst'.
In 2019 this spot doesn't seem to be useful anymore, the bridge has changed and only in its latter part there is some striped emergency place to stop. It seems very illegal and the cars would drive fast. You can walk to the 'Wommelgem roundabout', a major junction on the A13 3 km eastwards, or try the dispersing traffic on the ramp near the 'Borgerhout Sint-Erasmusziekenhuis' bus stop.

There is a massive service station (Hazeldonk-Oost), before [[Breda]], on the Dutch-Belgian border, where it is easy to hitch-hike for example near the exit from the petrol-station. You just have to write a board, because the highway divides into two directions nearby.
I hitchhiked to Breda from the McD next to Merksem Lambrechtshoeken. There is a green spot that u can stand there, it is safe. There is a ring which goes to E19 highway. I could get a direct ride. I did not even use the tram for the spot, I hitchhiked for that spot twice and I was quite lucky. When you arrive McD, take a position, show the cartoon and thumb up !
