Hitchhiking out
North and east towards Novosibirsk and Biysk via M52 (also R256 - "Chuysky Trakt")
Option 1 - "Lazy way" (railway station to DSI-7 stop)
From the stop near the railway station, take minibus 203 or 269 to the DSU-7 stop (around 40 rubles), then walk 400 meters along the road and turn right. Walk about 70 meters further, just past the stop there is a good spot for cars to pull over.
Option 2 - "Active way" (River Station and New Bridge)
From the terminal at the River Station, cross the Ob River on foot via the new bridge until you reach the police checkpoint (DPS post). When hitchhiking past the checkpoint, watch behind you – many cars pass by and then reverse back to pick you up.
Option 3 - "Modified Active way" (beginning of the new bridge)
You can hitchhike at the bus stop at the beginning of the new bridge, but traffic is mostly local and stops less often. The first or second options above are recommended.
South towards Rubtsovsk via A349
From the station, Spartak Square or any point along Leninskiy Prospekt, take bus 55 (every 10 minutes) to "Altaiskiy Sadovod." Walk back a bit to the fork with Zmeinogorsky Trakt and start hitchhiking.
West towards Kamen-na-Obi via R380
From the center, take any buses going to the airport or the "Lenta" supermarket – for example, minibus 144 (every 15 minutes). Get off at the airport turn and start hitchhiking – it's a straight road, and although the road quality isn't great, you'll leave quickly.
North-east towards Zarinsk via R374
Bus 15 from Novoaltaysk passes through the interchange of Chuysky Trakt and Zarinsky Trakt. The nearest stops are "Dorservice" on the outskirts of Beloyarsk and "Kiosk" in Tokaryovo village.
