Naryan-Mar (Russian: Нарьян-Мар) is the administrative center of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug.

  • The distance by road from Moscow to Naryan-Mar is 2,380 km, from Arkhangelsk to Naryan-Mar – 1,749 km.
  • The nearest railway station is Usinsk, which is 357 km away.
  • In spring 2023, the new year-round Naryan-Mar to Usinsk road was officially opened; previously, only a winter road was available, as there were no bridges over the rivers and cars could drive only on the ice.

  • In the eastern part of the city lies the workers’ settlement of Iskateley. From there, a new Laya-Vojska all-season road begins. Bus No. 101 from Iskateley goes to the settlement of Krasnoe, and about a third of the way from there, you will see the turn towards the east.
