Hitchhiking out
North towards Taupo
Get on an Intercity or Mana or Naked bus (about $10) from near the I-site in town, go right through Napier and get off at Eskdale and hitch from there.
Note: if you are hitching to Rotorua/Tauranga or Hamilton/Auckland get off at the big roundabout on the bypass, BEFORE your ride goes down the hill into Taupo township otherwise you will have to walk back!!
