Peshawar is a frontier city in the west of Pakistan.

Hitchhiking out

East towards Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore

Grab a bus/taxi or ask your host to drop you at the M1 shoulder direction Islamabad. Waiting times are limited to 10 minutes. You can find direct rides. It is possbible to hitchhike on some places on the highway. There are service- and tollstations.

Places to avoid

Peshawar tends to be one off the roughest cities of Pakistan. While driving to the Afghan border, my host got nervous and made a uturn 25 kms before the border.

Accommodation and Sleep

There is a limited couchsurfing community. If you ask around, it should be possible to pitch a tent in the New Town. There are a lot of huge villa's with gardens.
