Hitchhiking out
North and east towards Novosibirsk and Biysk via M52 (also R256 - "Chuysky Trakt")
Option 1 - "Lazy way" from DSV-7
From the stop near the railway station, take minibus 203 or 269 to the "DSU-7" stop (ticket about 40 rubles per person), then walk 400 meters along the traffic, turn right, walk another 70 meters, and just after the stop there is an excellent pocket for cars to pull over.
Option 2 - "Not lazy way" from River Station and New Bridge
From the terminus at the River Station, walk across the Ob river via the "new bridge" to the traffic police post. When hitchhiking past the post, watch behind you, as many cars passing by may come back by reversing on the road or roadside.
Option 3 - "Modified not lazy way" - Bus Stop at the Beginning of the New Bridge
Hitchhike at the bus stop at the beginning of the new bridge. There is a lot of local traffic, but cars stop much less frequently. The first two options are recommended.
South towards Rubtsovsk via A349
From the railway station, Spartak Square, or any point on Leninsky Prospekt, take bus 55 (every 10 minutes) to the "Altaisky Sadovod" stop, then walk back a bit to the junction with the Zmeinogorsky tract and start hitchhiking.
West towards Kamen-na-Obi via R380
From the center, take any bus going to the airport or to the "Lenta" supermarket, e.g., minibus 144 (every 15 minutes). Get off at the airport turn and hitchhike there – the road is straight and you’ll leave quickly, though road quality is not very high.
Northeast towards Zarinsk via R374
Bus 15 from Novoaltaysk passes through the interchange of the Chuysky tract and Zarinsky tract. The closest official bus stops are "Dorservice" on the outskirts of Beloyarsk and "Kiosk" in Tokarevo village.
