North towards Strasbourg
If someone can take you there by car, you can raise your thumb just before the roundabout featuring the Statue of Liberty, between the Conforama and Norauto shops. South towards Mulhouse/Belfort
You can walk southwards out of the city until you come to a roundabout: https://goo.gl/maps/Ez5h8XnLdqq. People that go to the A 35 pass here. They can stop at the side of the road after the roundabout. Got a hike to Lyon here.
