The A14 runs from Felixstowe to the junction of the M1 and M6, passing by Ipswich, Stowmarket, Bury St Edmunds and Newmarket.
The A140 runs from the A14 near Needham Market to the A149 south of Cromer, Norfolk. Between the A14 and Diss, Norfolk, it passes through many small villages. After Diss, the only significant place it passes is [[Norwich]] (the county town of Norfolk) before Cromer.
==A12==
Heading North from the Wickham Market roundabout, there is a layby on the sliproad. Very well placed to hitch. After this, the A12 becomes a single carriageway with cars still travelling very fast, but with no room to slow or stop. There's a petrol station in Stratford St Andrews on the A12 which may be useful to stop at if your ride isn't going much further.
