A 7-hour wait in a country where it usually takes only a few minutes to stop a car is not representative of hitchhiking in Poland and therefore should not go towards the top of the article. Anyway, I still think you were doing something wrong. "Charity hitchhiking gear" may have indeed been inappropriate; it's best in Poland to look like a local student on holiday, not some kind of unusual traveller. (Furthermore, you seem to have been hitchhiking at night and yet say nothing about reflective gear.) And even if one has ideal clothing, proper eye contact helps ensure short waiting times. :Poland sure is a bit random sometimes! You might've done everything according to book, had a perfect spot etc., but just good old bad luck. I've HH'ed all around Poland a lot for years and tho it usually goes smoothly, I've got my share of 5+h waiting, too. Maybe it has something to do how Poland is full of these small villages every 10-30km or how weather might make people there moody.
