Milas is a town in Muğla Province, southwestern Turkey. It lies on the junction of highways D330 (west-east, which links Bodrum with Muğla via Yatağan) and D525 (north-south, coming in from Izmir via Kuşadası).

East towards Yatağan, Muğla
South of town centre is a junction with traffic lights, here D525 joins D330. If you have arrived in Milas with a driver heading for Bodrum, s/he'll take you up to this point anyway. It seems hitching right next to the crossroad is fair enough although the shoulder is not very wide there. There is also a (not-so-busy) gas station about a kilometre down the road to Yatağan, where you can thumb the cars coming along the highway near its exit lane. Shoulder is wider there as well.
Try to attract a ride that does not terminate in power plant near Yatağan (Turkish: Yatağan Termik Santrali), as it is hard to get a subsequent ride from there, which lies about 4 km west of Yatağan town centre.
