[http://www.thecommonplace.org.uk The Common Place] is a social centre in the city centre. Its not always open, but worth trying for cheap vegan food, internet, a free shop, and a good way to meet people. UPDATE July 2014: The Common Place has been replaced by 'Wharf Chambers' - a cooperative bar which hosts lots of interesting events and sells organic beers.
