Iqaluit is the capital city of [[Nunavut]] and the tinyest tiniest of such in [[Canada]]. With a population around 6000 inhabitants, this town located on the Baffin Island is only accessible by air and by sea according to the ice conditions which makes it a remote place and hitching is not really possible as its transportation network only stretch of about a kilometer kilometre outside town.
A real adventurer could consider trying to 'hitch' or reach Iqaluit from the mainland of [[Quebec]] when the straight freeze by strait freezes in winter, but such things would anyway be reserved to experimented explorer and not for anybodyeverybody.
Snowmobiles is are a prefered preferred way of transportation in Iqaluit as well in everywhere else in the 'Great North', this allow allows you a higher flexibility of transportation through the frozen land.
Most settlements were built by military at the lowest material cost to be exclusively fonctionnal functional mainly because of the cost of material importation, which does not bring any particular interest towards architecture. The interests in the area remains remain in the large unspoiled nordic landscape, midnight sun and other natural interests.
