Odense is a city on the island of Fyn in Denmark. It's the third largest city in Denmark, known primarily for being the birth town of Hans Christian Andersen.

Hitchhiking in
From West (Germany, Jutland)
You can get of at almost all of the exits around Odense and catch a bus to the center, but at exit 52 Odense SV it is very easy for the driver to hold in at a supermarket Lidl. To get here you drive left towards the city center and right in the traffic light. Here the car can turn and drive back to the highway. From here you can also catch a to the city center. The bus stop is right after the traffic light. It is also possible to walk, it will take you around an hour (6 km).

From east (Copenhagen)
You can get of at Motorvejskryds Odense SØ "exit" 49. If you drive off the highway and follow it until the big roundabout you'll find a rest stop called Rasteplads Odense SØ. From there you driver can get back on the highway and you can walk towards the city and catch a bus to the center.
Hitchhiking out
=== Going East towards East or West Sjaellend, Copenhagen, Sweden===From Most of the traffic leaving Odense going towards either west or eastin this direction is funnelled onto the E20 via the junction near Svendborgvej. However very recently this junction has been redesigned, and it's now much harder to hitch that it used to be. Your best bet is to stand halfway down Drejebaeken, local hitchhikers mostly use where the road curves you'll see a space on-ramps the island in the middle of a same the road junction that brings where cars can pull in. There are lots of traffic here, however it IS illegal for pedestrians to be on this street, and it is illegal for the trafic from/cars to stop here. But I could not find a more suitable hitching spot.   If you don't want to stand there, there's a gas station near the highway E20McDonalds. To get Or try signing at the Flixbus bus stop near the McDonalds - but it's close to that road the roundabout and the cars see you pretty late. Signing before the roundabout means you miss the traffic leaving the gas station and the McDonalds.  Alternatively, there is another big junction2km west at Dalumvej. However here the traffic are coming from four different roads so you won't have the same concentration on traffic.  If you're really having a bad time east out of Odense, check Google Maps it could be worth your time hitching west to the Kildebjerg gas station and looking for directions or options of public transportations a ride east from there. Like I said, it's not easy. Also important to "McDonaldremember - when travelling east, you's 5260"ll be going over the Great Belt Bridge which has a £35 euro toll. You can generally take buses from Odense central station As with destination "Hjallese" or "Højby" the ferries, this charge is per car. ===West towards Jylland (buses 21, 22 or 23Jutland) and ask Germany=== It is normally very easy to get off at hitchhike out of Odense towards Jutland and Germany. There is a bus stop just before the entrance 52 Odense SV to the highway where you can stand and catch all the McDonald's by traffic from Odense to the highway (there will be only one McDonald's on your way). [[FileTo get here you can take bus 151-153:httpAssens/Brændekilde to the bus stop Vestre Boulevard, which is the spot. Or you can take bus 51-59:Bellinge//hitchwikibrændekilde and get of at Heliosvænget.orgFrom here you walk back in the direction from where the bus came, turn left at the first road you see, follow the pavement/en/File:Hitchhiking_spots_at_the_on-ramps_of_the_road_junction_at_McDonalds_Odensebikeline under the big road, turn left up the stairs and you are there.png#file|200px|thumb|right|Hitchhiking spots near When you take the bus you can see the signs for the highway and the spot, but the bus turn left in the McDonald's of traffic light just before, it dos not stop there.  It is important to be aware that the highway E20 from Odense splits just after the bridge to Jutland, so if you are going south towards Germany, but your driver is going north towards Jutland ex. Aarhus, you have to get out at a gasstation before the bridge or at the exit/entrance of Fredericia (would not recommend this place) To awoid getting stuck you can either wait for a ride going south or Copenhagen]]get of at Lillebælt Nord (pic) right after exit 57 Nørre Aaby.. It can take some time to get a ride south from there, but it works.. From there it goes quite easy; there are a lot of gasstations after Kolding. == Trashwiki & Nomadwiki ==
Towards Jutland Once you're at McDonald's, find the on-ramp on your right side which gives access to the highway (E20) towards "Kolding". Kolding is a city already in Jutland.nomad:Orense trash:Odense
Towards Copenhagen Once you're at McDonald's, cross the bridge over the highway (E20) and then you'll see the on the on-ramp towards Copenhagen on your left side (in the signs you'll read Copenhagen in Danish, which is "København").
Internet access
At the train station there is a library where they have computers with free internet access. There's a sign saying "use for max 15 minutes" or something like that. But the nobody really cares for how long you sit there.
