It is a college town, and, being one of the more open minded places in the state, it should be an easy hitch. The area has an actively expanding suburban population, so it is likely you will do a lot of walking when hitching east or west through the area. Interstate 540 runs north and south with many active ramps, so moving north or south is much easier.
