:: I guess you got me wrong: I didn't say I don't want these link, I said the infobox is the wrong place for it. The template generates a load of broken links now. i.e. on the page of [[Russia]] it points to http://ve.free-travels.ru/articles/item.php?country=of which does not exist. Similar things happen on [[France]] and [[Ireland]]... I don't want to try more. It simply does not work this way. That is actually the reason why we discuss such changes before we implement them. Please create a template for avp like it's done for hitchbase. I'll remove the links again --[[User:MrTweek|MrTweek]]<small>[http://{{{2}}} site], [[user talk:MrTweek|wikitalk]]</small> 21:45, 11 April 2008 (CEST)
::: Sure, I understand. Still, I do think that this is the right place for the above reasons mentioned above. I am happy when somebody is able and willing to create a template in which the links are displayed in the right form. Is it possible to hide not filled in fields in templates? This was my first try and then slowly add it in more and more contries... --[[User:Alex|Alex]] 15:20, 14 April 2008 (CEST) Edit: Dumdidum. Not interested I guess?

::::Tried it with [[Template:avp]] . No idea how it works correctly, just have a look there and try to get it working better than I did :D And have a look at the Talk page there. :::::The [http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Template#Parameters doc] says something about if-statements, that might be what you want. (don't have time right now)--[[User:MrTweek|MrTweek]]<small>[http://{{{2}}} site], [[user talk:MrTweek|wikitalk]]</small>

== AVP ==
With the if-then statements it is now possible to crosslink (where there is more information on other pages) and make more information easily available. I added the possibility for AVP to the template. However, Google translation is fine, but only translates the first part of a page... does anyone know a better automatic translation which we could use here? Thanks. --[[User:Alex|Alex]] 08:44, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

== flags ==

I think it would be good to change the flag element to .svg or to enable both (if .svg is compatible with the template form). I just uploaded a .png flag version of the Antigua & Barbuda flag because it was necessary, so now we have a .svg version online and a .png version, which I find slightly unnecessary. The same goes for other countries such as Jamaica and probably many more. Any thoughs?--[[User:Zenit|Zenit]] 15:56, 18 May 2011 (CEST)
:The problem is the <b><nowiki>[[Image:flag_{{{country|{{PAGENAME}}}}}.png|30px|border|Flag {{{country|{{PAGENAME}} }}}]]</nowiki></b>, which relies on the name of the page to be the name of the country to be that of the flag. .SVG flags come directly from Wikipedia, and they don't follow this simple format. Changing this is not going to be a trivial matter... [[User:Prino|Prino]] 22:37, 18 May 2011 (CEST)
::I don't know if we need to change it... instead we could just kick out all the .svg flags and replace them with the .png flags. Or would quality suffer immeasurably?--[[User:Zenit|Zenit]] 12:40, 19 May 2011 (CEST)
