Western Montana is full of beautiful forests and even when you are stuck waiting, the scenery makes it OK.
===Bozeman===
Bozeman is the 5th largest city in Montana. The Streamline bus [http://www.streamlinebus.com/] provides free transport around the city, while the Skyline Bus [http://www.skylinebus.com/] provides transport to and around Big Sky, a nearby four-season resort (snowsports, golf, hiking, mountain biking).
Many of the non-interstate highways in Montana DO NOT PREVENT pedestrians, and are therefore suitable for hitching. However, the speed limit is quite high, so a highly visible spot is essential.
==Winter==
Winter conditions in Montana can become frigidly cold. Care should be taken to dress warmly and to avoid getting stuck out in the cold.
