== Use buses and trains ==
It's not worth trying to hitchhike at all costs. Sometimes it's just more convenient to take a bus to get to a highway or to your final destinations. This is the case especially when leaving or arriving at big cities or at night. Usually Sometimes you can get away without paying on public transport anyway; Just get on and take a seat. Preferably sit and stand near a door, and if although in some countries or cities you see someone at the stop getting on that might want have to see your ticket when they get on, jump off and take the next one. Trams in particular are easy to blackride, as are buses in [[Eastern Europe]].  [[England]] be more careful than usual: check a "Public Transport" (or "Blackriding") section (if there is not any) of a great country for blackriding, pretty much impossible on buses as with very few exceptions /city you purchase a ticket from the driver, and hard on tramstravel to. For short hops on local trainsIf you do blackride anyway, it's possible, and from stations without a ticket office, where one is expected to buy a ticket on board sit or stand preferably by the train, it's often possible door; sometimes quick reaction (last second jumping off) to simply look out of the window or pay attention suspiciously looking folks who might appear to a book, and the conductor won't bother you. The same is just as possible from a station with a be ticket office, however, if caught the penalty ranges from from being expected to pay a higher fare, to being fined £20 or more, and to having controllers can save your details taken and risking a criminal record; and you should weigh up the risk against the cost of paying the farebutt.
